01

The only construction company in Japan with the amphibious bulldozer.

Asunaro Aoki Construction owns all five of the amphibious bulldozers developed by Komatsu in 1971 that are currently in operation. In the uniquely challenging sector of shallow water construction, we have been involved in over 1,200 construction projects and contributed to disaster prevention, disaster mitigation, and ecological restoration. Amphibious bulldozers are crucial when managing localized heavy-rain disasters and landslides triggered by earthquakes and volcanic activities, whose frequency has increased across the country in recent years. Their significance is expected to continue to rise in the future. Asunaro Aoki presently collaborates with Komatsu to conduct a demonstration of an electric underwater construction robot capable of operating at depths of up to 50 m. This robot is designed to enable effortless operation, even by those without specialized skills. By integrating automatic control and ICT functions, this innovative technology aims to address pressing social challenges, including climate change.

02

Contributing to society through technological developments

The Asunaro Aoki Construction’s Technical Research Institute covers an area of approximately 18,000 m2 and comprises an administrative building and a laboratory building with a construction area of 3,000 m2 and a total floor area of approximately 9,000 m2, along with an outdoor laboratory yard and an aggregate yard. The company develops technologies that could be used in a wide range of fields, including building construction and civil engineering technologies as well as environmental response and disaster prevention technologies. In recent years, we have been developing technologies in the areas of seismic reinforcement and renewal, including the introduction of “DRF Damper” to enhance the seismic performance of existing bridges on the Metropolitan Expressway. We will continue to develop technologies that contribute to realizing a sustainable society.

03

Challenge to Change

In recent years, the society around us has entered an era of unprecedented rapid change, and the construction industry is no exception to this change. In this evolving landscape, Asunaro Aoki Construction remains committed to expanding its business domain to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse society. Guided by the theme, “Transforming from a traditional contractor into a solution provider handling everything from planning to operations,” we will continue to embrace new challenges and innovations.

04

Collective Strength of the Group

The Takamatsu Group is a corporate group comprising 19 companies under the Takamatsu Construction Group, the holding company, with five core operating companies. These include Asunaro Aoki Construction, a large-scale civil engineering and building construction contractor; Takamatsu Construction, which specializes in real estate utilization; Mirai Construction Industry, a marine civil engineering company; Toko Geotech, a company focused on slope stabilization and fire-resistant construction; and Takamatsu House, a company dedicated to wooden detached housing.
In June 2023, our company relocated to the Takamatsu Construction Group Tokyo Headquarters Building, developed in Joint Venture with Takamatsu Corporation. This relocation has further increased collaboration among group companies. We will continue our efforts to meet our clients’ expectations by creating more synergies and demonstrating the Group’s collective strengths.
